You've read the book, listened to the album, okay, now buy the songbook. This is the songbook of the album 'My Utmost For His Highest', which is a collection of 11 songs by well known American Christian artists, inspired by the Oswald Chambers' daily readings of the same name. In the book these 11 artists give their reasons why the book has inspired them so much in their various Christian walks and the songs in the songbook are the musical product of such inspiration. The material as you would expect is very worshipful in content and feel, and has been faithfully transcribed by Bryce Inman. Sensible chords in most songs with some quite easy progressions for the 'hobby' musician. Don't let that put you harmonic explorers off, as there are several examples of more 'crunchy' chord progressions for you to get your teeth into. Melodic rhythms are interesting without getting too difficult and the changes of time signatures in some of the songs will polish up your reading skills.
