Undoubtedly the New Song Café were/are the most ambitious instructional DVDs worship music has been graced with. Instructional interviews (conducted by one time Outlaw, Ric Cua) with famous songwriters explaining the inspiration and the structure of their songs backed with "bonus webisodes" offering an easy transcription method, a new capo technique, chord fingering techniques and, far less impressive, some "interesting facts about the songwriters who have written some of your favourite songs." There are 15 songs given the treatment here, including Matt Redman's "The Heart Of Worship", Chris Tomlin's "Kindness", Stuart Townend's "Beautiful Saviour", Martin Smith's "My Glorious" and Paul Oakley's "Jesus Friend Of Sinners". One or two obscurities - you won't find too many people in the UK keen to learn Tony Hooper's "All The Days Of My Life". But on the whole these ARE popular songs, the interviews are relaxed and the instructions clear.
