The rationale (beyond perpetuating this series) seems to be twofold: circulating newly popular worship songs and promoting lesser known Kingsway talents. Like most compilation albums by the prolific band Various, the curates overdoes on cholesterol. This one covers all the bases from Chris Bowater and Kent Henry's "Worship With Wogan" music to Noel Richard's 'redeemed football chants'. Other stopping off points include Grandad Kendrick, sounding vocally homeless in a black gospel arrangement of "Say It Loud"; Viola singing sweetly; Hillsongs doing their Southern Hemisphere take on a Vineyard style and some British 'bland-outs' from the 'Worship Together' series. Me, I go for the Youth Church anthems of Redman, Prosch et la represented here. And that's the key, I think: do the postmodern thing and pick'n'mix using your CD player's programming button.
