'Overwhelming Joy' is a collection of 11 songs performed by popular Christian female artists. It is the second album from the 'Women OF Faith Artist Series'. The diverse style and expression of the collection holds the key to a varied and uplifting experience. Certain tracks have an upbeat and contemporary presenta­tion. I found myself getting quite caught up in the rousing crescendo. Other tracks have a more acoustic, reflective sound and catch your spirit in a quieter yet still as moving mood. I particularly enjoyed track one, "Keep The Candle Burning" performed by Point Of Grace, with its soulful sound as well as a real groove, combined with meaningful lyrics relevant to today's living. The harmon­ising of voices in Twila Paris' "Do I Trust You Melody", together with an innov­ative musical backing capture the spirit of worship in an inspiring and particu­larly moving way. I have thoroughly enjoyed this album and have found it to reach the aim that Women Of Faith set out, to be an encouragement to keep on going on a 'joyful journey' with the King.
