An overdue showcase of UK reggae gospel talent. Through focusing on a more laidback style it could be seen as representing the more easy listening, lovers rock form of reggae. 10 artists feature over the 16 tracks on offer here since more recognised names such as Hyacinth Douglas and Rev L Hamilton take a couple of songs each. In truth much of this project washed over me in a pleasant enough way, but there were a couple of moments where I sat up and listened. Oliver Ashley's "Who Is Who?" has got some memorable lines, DJ Height's remix of Sammy K's "I Was Lost" makes a good stab at reggae's dubby side and Alesha Smith's "From The Depths" sounds refreshingly unplugged after all the midi processing of previous tracks. There are some fine voices represented here as well. Howie Hutchinson's vocal is excellent while Leroy Morrison has a more smoky tone. Overall, this venture is recommended to anyone who likes their reggae a little more relaxed.
