Hard to place this in a genre because there is such a variety of music styles demonstrated across this compilation of Scandinavian Christian music. We've already been playing the magnificent moody rock of Blank on Cross Rhythms radio so it's good to hear two tracks here. Sadly research to find out more info on these artists has proved fruitless! Although these songs are in English, their websites aren't and being a confirmed monoglot, my Swedish just isn't up to scratch! But I thoroughly recommend the groovy hip-hop of Samuel L Jungblahd (imagine how hard it must be to work that name into one of your rhymes?). Mainstreet, Charizma and Mammuth make powerful histrionic rock whereas Magnus Bodin and Floodgate err on the slightly gentler side. Obviously there are going to be a few patchier moments here and I'm not convinced by the acoustic rock of Andreas Ljiberg and the ordinary gospel of My Grace. But hey, it's a great introduction to a whole new scene. I expect Admiral Cummings has got his Swedish phrasebook, warm clothing and a supply of salted fish out already and is planning a trip over there to report on this website very soon!
