12 tracks of reggae gospel from some big Jamaican music names (Carlene Davis, Sanchez) and some unknowns (Fiona and the wonderfully named George Nooks). Mr Nooks offers an approximation of John Holt's lover's rock style on a smooth rendition of "How Great Thou Art" while elsewhere another obscure act, the improbably monikered E-MAC-U-LET, a girl group sing "Jesus Be A Fence". Carlene Davis is effective on "God Is Watching You" which turns out to be an unlikely hybrid of "Every Breath You Take" and Albert Brumley's "I'll Fly Away"! Another engaging track is Mr Vegas singing "Higher Higher" which has enough Jamaican feel to banish thoughts of the ghastly versions, complete with actions, Sunday schools sometimes inflict on us. Overall, a pretty good compilation.
