This is an innovative worship project, the brainchild of Lincoln-based veteran worship leader and songwriter Chris Bowater. He has brought together 15 songs from the grassroots of the Church from all over the British Isles. Each songwriter contributed towards the cost of the recording and sang the lead vocals over a music track laid down by a small band at dB Studios in Lincoln. A number of the songs were used at the Ground Level network of churches 2003 Grapevine Celebration. The songs represent a wide range of musical styles and influences, some it has to be said are more original than others, but all are clearly born out of a sincere desire to worship God. Occasionally I felt the backing band ran out of new ideas, or at least seemed to be trying too hard when a very simple accompaniment would have been fine. Whether you're looking for new songs for your house group or for a big celebration you should find some inspiration on this album.
