"In a galaxy far, far away..." OK, so it's not exactly original; but what is unique is the value for money compilation disc now available from Millennium 8. 18 songs by 14 artists, 11 of whom come under the banner of 'independent', is what you get for the shocking price. Included are songs by ex-Guardian vocalist Jamie Rowe from his brand new independently released 'Beautiful EP'; a song from Dale Thompson's forthcoming solo project 'Acoustic Daylight'; along with such rarities as early L.S.U. material and a spine tingling pre-release track from Midnight Orchestra, featuring ex-Tempest frontman Mick Rowe. Overall, though dire in places (Bride's "Missing Children" and Deitiphobia's "Bow To The Cross" immediately spring to mind), 'Song Wars' is one budget musical journey of epic proportions not to be missed!
