This 50 song, three-CD set is the latest in a long line of compilation albums, aimed at bringing worshippers the "Greatest" worship songs. Of course, with 50 tracks there will be a lot to like, especially if you are familiar with the artists and songs here. Paul Baloche, Robin Mark, New Breed and Hillsong are just some of the acts featured. The songs are a mix of recordings from the original artists and new takes on old favourites. Most songs are recorded live at worship events, which captures the experience of singing along with a large congregation, and means the songs are often charged with a bit more atmosphere than if they were studio recordings, and feel more organic. This may be helpful for worship leaders especially to hear how a song can be used in congregation, rather than just hearing how it is played "perfectly" for the studio. This compilation is a good resource both for the worshipper and the worship leader/musician.
