My first encounter with this series was seeing a satellite TV advertisement on a mainstream channel – interesting, I thought! It is the result of a joint project between Integrity and Time Life Music which has resulted so far in nine CDs, eight videos and one songbook...so far! Its aim? To assemble a “definitive collection of classic praise and worship songs.” ‘Sing Out’ is the latest CD in the series and features current worship leaders such as Ron Kenoly (“Sing Out”), Matt Redman (“Better Is One Day”), Kevin Prosch (“His Banner Over Me”) and Darlene Zschech (“Love You So Much”), along with recordings from the past from Andrae Crouch (“Bless His Holy Name”), Jamie Owens Collins (“The Battle Belongs To The Lord”) and the Maranatha! Singers (“Rejoice, Sing To The Lord”, “Our God Reigns”) - a combination that works surprisingly well considering the songs are joined allowing no gaps between tracks! This double CD set allows a good introduction to praise and worship and may allow the obtaining of some tracks long since deleted.
