Compiling songs with a theme is a precarious task: do you go for style or lyrical content? It must be easy to fall either side of the divide. World Vision have done a pretty good job here. The songs and accompanying DVD and pdf.file are aesthetically pleasing while undertaking a crucial message that concerns us all in today's global village. High points are "Jabulani Africa" from the well known but oddly named Worship Africa CDs (why would I want to worship Africa?) and "Love Mercy", the title track from Andy Bromley's solo CD whch captures the theme of the CD to perfection. "Show justice, love mercy, walk humbly with your God." That about sums it up. Delirious?' "White Ribbon Day" is here, ('King Of Fools'). The hushed, angelic voice of Norway's Solveig provides space and depth, the feel of the album fits together remarkably well. And how nice to see Diane Louise Jordan, (ex-Blue Peter) talking us through the highly commendable work of WV who, every time a child is sponsored, ring a bell in their office, to the excitement of all the workers there.
