This is an excellent introduction to a variety of new Australian bands presented here by Sureshot Records for you delectation and delight! Highlights? Well I enjoyed the alternative sound of Jemima’s opening cut, an upbeat (and short – 1.26) intro to the selection before giving away to the more grungy heavy duty sounds of Thinktank’s excellent “Bulletproof”. More left field is Dewey Del’s “Sister” with its indiscriminate feedback and hey hey hey hey backing vocals. Nicely weird and different! You’ll need to reinforce the CD player for Embodyment who are the most hardcore act here but then things go ever so slightly dancey and industrial with the cover of Echoing Green’s “Arrival” by Atlantis. If you like left field heaviosity and are thirsty to discover a clutch of new bands, check this out!
