'Tasty Samples' with the subtitle 'Spiritual Nutrition In A Box', is a Christmas marketing device from Kingsway Music. It contains 10 full length original recordings taken from previous Kingsway offerings and a £2 Off voucher to be used against the purchase of each of those albums (too late if you're only just reading this review), redeemable before 31st December 2005. The songs contained are standard worship material dating from 1994 ("O God Of Burning Cleansing Flame", "We Have Prayed") through the mid and late '90s ("Who Paints The Skies", "Jesus Lover Of My Soul" amongst others) to the early years of this century (the most up to date being "In Christ Alone", "There Is A Day" and "Be Lifted Up") while the performances are mainly from various Stoneleigh albums. All good stuff, no doubt, and at £1.99 the album itself as a stand-alone item is okay value and an excellent listen for those so inclined. The packaging is slightly bizarre (but then that's ad-men for you), and the intention clear, but a short and sharp exposure to this kind of worship music may well lead a previously reluctant listener to investigate more.
