Well known American worship leaders/songwriters gospel-tinged Lindell Cooley and rock-orientated Darrell Evans feature on this collection, along with Robin Mark and Eric Nuzum Thomason. 'The Best Of Revival Worship' has been released as part of a series which includes The Best Of Celtic Worship' and 'The Best Of Women In Worship'. Overall I thought this was an up lifting album and I liked the diversity of styles used. The standout song on the album is the Robin Mark classic "Revival" with the backing band giving the song a country feel, whilst the use of the backing singers help to reinterpret a well known song. Also I really enjoyed "The Lord Reigns" which experimented with a gospel feel and "Healing Waters" had some very reflective lyrics and lilting melodies. The album completed with "Be Unto Your Name" played in a Celtic style with haunting pipes echoing and interweaving throughout the song. An intriguing compilation though some will be put off by the wide range of musical styles.
