'The Breakthrough Trilogy' is a three CD box set accompanying the three best selling Christian books The Prayer Of Jabez, Secrets Of The Vine and A Life God Rewards. Well produced and featuring some good quality artists (Chris Tomlin/Rebecca St James/Margaret Becker to name a few) this compilation is a nice collection of inspirational and easy to worship to songs that attempt to develop some of the themes found in the books. This target is met with varying degrees of success. CD three, 'A Life God Rewards', features some varied and well written songs that I found both moving and powerful. On the other hand, CD one 'The Prayer Of Jabez', doesn't really seem to develop any ideas and can seem a little samey, which is a shame as it features some beautifully arranged songs. One example of this is that the majority of the songs use the word “territory” (from the biblical prayer of Jabez) which appears to be awkward to sing in an American accent (as you will hear). None the less, on the whole, this is a very listenable compilation. It's a shame the three couldn't contain more than 20 songs in total (certainly not a lack of disc space) and I can't comment on whether they reflect the content of the books very well. But I would suggest that unless you're a very fast reader you're going to be listening to the seven tracks per book (six for 'Secrets Of The Vine') quite a few times.
