Reviewed by Tony Cummings A great way to follow the music industry is by the sampler releases compiled by record labels, and now most home entertainment systems include a DVD player it is exciting that we now have this luxury not only with music, but the bands' latest videos too! Tooth & Nail Records, now on their third volume of 'The Nail' series, have shown that Christian contemporary music is no longer presented to the world with excuses, but with great production and videos that stand up alongside the mainstream. With a great show of musical and visual creative diversity, this release has something for every discerning rock fan. Whether you're into pop punk, hard rock or more relaxed bands, you should find something on here to connect with, which makes the DVD a great resource too for churches and youth groups. There are a lot of familiar faces among the generous 20 tracks on this DVD, bands who have matured immensely like MeWithoutYou and Emery, bands we have come to expect regular hits from like Project 86 and Thousand Foot Krutch, and even old favourites who are still just plain weird (yes, you must remember Joy Electric, their daft video "Quite Quieter Than Spiders" is a personal highlight). As well as those acts we have here the mainstream Waking Ashland (sadly, now no more) and hard rockers Sullivan, from whom we should expect much more in the future. Great entertainment, and highly recommended for anyone looking for an introduction to today's God-rock.
