Another of those frustrating items which slipped through the comprehensive Cross Rhythms reviews net. A belated review for this 2002 compilation is particularly needed as currently there are four (yes, four!) tracks currently being played on Cross Rhythms radio. So if you’ve been swooning over Byron Barrett’s “Lift Him Up”, Stella’s soulful “Eagle Wings”, Niki Carless’ garage delight “The Lord Is Your Keeper (Remix)” or Siani’s sweetly simmering “Missing U (Remix)” then this collection of some of the best stuff from the British gospel underground is an essential purchase. There’s some other good stuff as well, from Carla Hayles, Nu Life and LCGC. Support British gospel.
