Here's Tonex bringing his whole crew out to play. This is good, a new angle on gospel music laced with more hip hop beats than R&B grooves. Watch out for the hot "Automatic" by Tonex featuring Jah Word. Listen a few times to "Figure" by Tonex, another hot track - it may take a few listens, but stick with it. Shelley Gaines's cut has that soulful kind of groove feel and is certainly as good as the rest and may well be one of the best. Jah Word pops up in his own inimitable style in the proceedings. This really is very close to mainstream hip hop. This is a CD that will be appreciated by the hip hop crowd, what can I say, getting' down just for the funk of it!
