Gold Records, more a gathering of like minded individuals than a company, release a collection of angel-based pieces that has been a long time coming. The songs and poems here have been a few years accumulating as the various contributors did other things, but now it's come together. Songs written by Phil Baggaley, Ian Blyth and Dave Clifton are more than ably sung by Julie Costello, Mal Pope and Esther Alexander with interspersed poems written and read by Adrian Plass, Stewart Henderson and Michael Mitton. Don't let a such long list of names put you off as this is a gentle delight with more than one or two surprises - but then surprises seem to be in the nature of angels.
