From Abbie Walker's country "Save Me" to Jeff Johnson Band's pop-rock "Ruin Me", 'Underground Sound' presents a fascinating selection. Having helped create the successful 'Wow' series, executive producer Paul Wright has created a new brand purely to showcase some of the best Christian artists making great music without the help of a record label. "Something Wrong", a heavy Nickleback-esque song, will be leading single in the rock category and Carl Cartee's "Trust In You" will lead radio promotions in the inspirational category. All in all, there is something for everybody in this compilation. Jessica Mclean's squeaky pop voice will appeal to the teenage girl market, while Shelley Moor Band's acoustic "Whisper" appeals to a more adult audience. Having been whittled down from 1500 possible tracks, these final 15 are all strong and, given the variety, have all been cleverly chosen. If this reflects in sales, as it ought, Volume 2 may not be far away.
