In a format similar to DJ Maj's album, this offering goes beyond the standard compilation, by mixing and blending some of Uprok's greatest hits from the last year together with some new unreleased material. "Beat matching" and flashing" (back and forthin' a phrase) create an overlap and fusion throughout - could this be a benchmark for comps to come? "I'm a mixologist," says DJ Allstar. "I blend music, that's what keeps the party going and your head nodding." Gems include KJ-52's compulsive old school "Nursery Rhymes" and Playdough's all funked up anthemic "Seeds Of Abraham". Ill Harmonics feature big with the Cubano vibe of "San Jose" and the infectious "What We Do", not forgetting the beautifully crafted and lilting oriental vibe of "What's Real" by the Tunnel Rats.
