I know more than one believer who are collecting the multi-label 'Wow' CD compilations as one of the most convenient and economic ways of keeping abreast of the CCM scene (or at least the Nashville section of it). Now that the hugely successful series has been extended to DVDs here's a chance to do the same with Christian videos. The compilation offers 15 short form videos from a stylistically wide selection of acts offering new album in 1999, from the wistful, jangly pop of Sixpence None The Richer to the fey rock of Audio Adrenaline, from the engaging punk ska of the now sadly departed The W's to the glinty-toothed Nashville cheese of Point Of Grace. Quite a few excellent songs suffer from poorly conceived, cheaply shot videos but there are honourable exceptions like Sixpence None The Richer's homage to Francois Truffauts' film Jules Et Jim on their "Kiss Me" mega hit, Britain's sole representative Delirious? being silly on "Deeper" or the surreal animated fun of Veggie Tales on "His Cheeseburger". Good stuff.
