One of the most heartening changes in the churches the last decade has been the gradual acceptance of women as worship leaders and songwriters. So it's fitting that this, the latest in another popular Kingsway compilation series, should feature some tracks from Australia's Darlene Zschech, the sister who has led the charge in challenging the prejudice of the "praise and worship is a man's ministry" stance. I listened to this album on a Sunday morning as I readied myself for church and I can report that it really touched my heart. Particular standouts were Geraldine Latty's "Come To The Table", Cathy Burton's "Shouts Of Joy" (from 'The International People's Album') Sue Rinaldi's "Only You" and Viola's "I Will Follow" (though why the inner sleeve credited the Swedish sister Viola Grafstrom I know not). Deftly compiled by another seriously talented lady, Caroline Bonnett, this is beautiful music to lead you into God's presence - whatever your gender.
