Producer Chris Norton had quite a little production line going in the ‘90s turning out instrumental albums like these three repackaged here. This time up it’s 1999’s ‘Worship Him On The Clarinet’ by Ben Castle (surprisingly effective renditions, many with a Celtic tinge, of Noel Richards, Graham Kendrick, Chris Bowater, etc); 2000’s ‘Worship Him On The Celtic Pipes’ by Simon Bernard-Smith (in other words low whistle, tin whistle and uillean pipes played by the chap best known for his work on the panpipes) and 1997’s ‘Worship Him On The Harp’ by Rachel Davies (the harp virtuoso every bit as good as America’s Linda McKechney). There’s a greater musical coherence on these three than on other sets in the series so if you’re looking for just one collection of spiritual chill out music, this could be the one to buy.
