Much like the phrases "a diet that'll work" and "how to de-stress your life", "the ultimate collection" is marketing hyperbole. It's a hits package, full stop. Whether it's the finale and culmination that the word ultimate implies probably depends on your taste in contemporary worship songs rather than any depth that the track listing has to offer. As for the songs, starting off with the blinding Newsboys track "He Reigns" (which always feels like an epic finale to me rather than an intro song), the CD contains a number of well known tracks from equally well known Christian artists. Tim Hughes, Matt Redman and Delirious? sit at the table with Rebecca St James, Tree63 and The Katinas, amongst others, and, if you're looking for a number of guitar-led worship songs that you'll probably know the majority of the words to, then this is the CD that you're looking for. It doesn't do anything different nor does it wish to. Look at the track listing and make your mind up accordingly.
