Wiseman Ministries (also known as White Chocolate) are a brass/woodwind/keyboard/guitar/bass/percussion combo producing a variety of soul, funk and groove-based interpretations of established worship songs and hymns. The band's founder, Tim Wiseman, is on keys on this, their third such CD. The lead vocals of Darrin Morris are exceptionally good, but then the musicianship throughout this recording (14 tracks lasting 61 minutes) is of the highest calibre and always interesting. The recording was made at a performance at Rose Heights church, Longview, Texas with what sounds like a comparatively small but very appreciative congregation, and the result is a recording with an appealing and intimate feel that has excellent variety throughout its length and which, despite the intimacy, never drops from the highest of energy levels. If soul, funk and R&B styles are your bag then this is highly recommended as an infectiously happy and danceable hour or so of praise.
