Comment:	In my younger years I worked for a well known shop selling Scotland at it’s worst – clad in tartan, teddy bears and green fluffy Loch Ness monsters. Thankfully I qualified in my chosen career and left that pseudo tartan world forever. The music section was devoted to the likes of Tommy Scott and his cringingly embarrassing arrangements of well-loved Scottish songs. Many visitors from the USA and further afield went home thinking that this music was representative of Scotland. It’s time the serious and professional Scottish music makers were given prominence.
