Comment:	Unfortunately, these disputes between the Guild and BUECU are nothing new. I was on the BUECU Executive Committee in the early 1960's, and at one stage we were prohibited from meeting on Guild premises, and met instead in St Francis Hall (the University chapel). I feel that the CU invites trouble by not being democratic - this year's "Exec" appoints next year's "Exec". It would do no harm for members to stand for election and be voted on to the Exec - in the same way as Anglican churches elect their Church Wardens and PCC members. God can still work through elected committees!
