hmmm.. an interesting review with some very interesting assumptions. Firstly, this is their debut album which was released in 2001 and yes, was very much influenced by the hip hop style of the late 90's, so should be viewed in that context. The newest album, I Believe, has come a long way in the depth of lyrical content and producing. Secondly, rapping with an NZ-accent just sounds cras (& British rapping is not much better). But to question the integrity of their message? That's taking it a bit too far.. maybe Mr Rimmer could grace his presence at a Rapture Ruckus concert and see the impact of the message & music on the lives of young people.
