Comment:	AG David Cutter (My son's godfather) is still fit and well at 80 and living in Wells. He'll be delighted to know that the Arthur Ransomes are remembered with affection. David is rather deaf these days. At his godson's wedding reception he surveyed my daughter-in-law and her sisters and observed, accurately but rather too loudly in that fruity baritone 'Well, Richard's certainly bagged the pick of this bunch.' I was a lay-clerk at Newcastle in 1986-1990
