Comment: When I was a Christian teenager I also struggled to balance writing about a broken world. I too felt the 'push' to write cuddly evangelical songs and so I stayed away from listening to 1980s UK CCM. Ironically it was U2 who kept an element of Christian-ness in my otherwise secular interests.
