Comment: Tony, I think you've completely misunderstood the review. For what it's worth I love Hillsongs, Jesus Culture etc, but I cannot abide homogonised songs that COPY that style.... and there's lots of that happening, from chord structures, hooks, and even people attempting to sound like the lead singers. There is some good stuff out there, but I do think you need to look for it, and being a musician who plays in a worship band every single week, and has done for over 30 years, there's sadly also a fair bit of very poor musicianship. I will listen to anything that's good - from Hillsong, through to Jesus Culture, through to Tye Tribbett, what I won't listen to are people who copy that style with poor musical ability. Sadly I think Christians sometimes tend to leave their brains at home and appear to live in a Woodstock nirvana, thinking that it's sinful to speak as you find. It's not, it's called having common sense and presenting a critique. I accept that one man's meat is another's poison, but I know what I like, and I can spot something when it's good ( I spotted for a major non-religious label for a few years ) So, in conclusion - Paradigm is a breath of fresh air - I like Hillsongs and Jesus Culture - it's the counterfeit, poor musical integrity I can't stomach.
