I love Children of the Day still today. I wish I was able to get their albums on CD. I don't care if the Pope was gay as long as he loves the Lord and shared it. Children of the Day mean a lot to me and always will. More power to you Marsha for you musical talents and fir continuing to share God's word.
If there us a way to get Children if the Day's albums on CD please let me know.

COTD music was sweet, slick, professional and incredibly inspiring. It recreates for me my salvation and attendant peace and joy it brought. I still play it. Often. Where can I find copies of their songbooks? I am a choir director and would love to present this music to a wider audience. God bless them, each of the Children of the day.

I loved The C.O.T.D. Their musical sophistication, especially on the second album caused me to think of them - esp Peter Jacob, as genius. Plus, I had an enormous crush on him without even being able to admit that I was homosexual at the time. I was so surprised to meet him years and years later when he was touring churches with a Christian kids group sort of like "Up With People." At the time I was a participant in Love in Action (residential ex-gay group) and the meeting stirred up those adolescent "crushy/gay" feelings for Peter again. I cannot agree with the liberal theology which allows for homosexual activity, so in many ways I am still "closeted." But those days of Love Song (who I saw in concert many times) and Children of the Day are such wonderful and pure memories for me.

I think saying that COD "ended in scandal" just because there was a divorce and one member came out as gay is sensationalizing it a bit. Christians do get divorced, Christians do come out as gay, and neither of those is considered scandalous unless you grew up in a very conservative or fundamentalist church. There are more than enough real scandals without trying to invent more.

I toured with COD playing drums and all I can say is I loved Marsha back then and I certainly love her now!

A little more info on the Peter Jacobs reference. Jacobs would also create the Colby the Computer character during the mid-1980s (following the footsteps of fellow Jesus Music singer Ernie Rettino with Psalty), and would release several children's albums as well as a 1995-2000 TBN children's series "Colby's Clubhouse".
