ALC is unbiblical. Whilst trying to be relevant to the world it has become irrelevant to God. The methods and wisdom of the world are employed to attract people to the church and the community of the church rather than christ. A non-offensive, soft, seeker friendly gospel is preached, where God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. I have a problem with this kind of church because it does not tie in with scripture and/or church history.

I've been trying to find more information about Abundant Life and Paul and reading some feedback around the comment Paul made 'Jesus is irresponsible...'. But without the context the statement was in you can't comment further. As long as Paul is not saying that what Jesus did was wrong and we shouldn't follow his example... because from a 'human' point of view the gospel message is illogical and what Jesus did can be considered irresponsible. But Jesus did it anyway because 'God's ways are not our ways'.

God bless you man of God, this is the first time I have heard of you or seen you when I watched the Joyce Meyer ministry broadcast. It caught my attention when you were talking about religion and relationship. I was truly blessed because I was engaged to an Apostle who I think is very religious and I just believe God brought me into his life for change but he does not see it, he says I am rebellious and he says woman should be silent in the church and not wear pants and have their head covered sometime I do not believe we understand what that scripture really means and the bible says women wear modest apparel. I believe it is all about tradition, control and what he has been taught. Thank you for enlightning me. God bless, Anita Johnson.

I heard you with Joyce Meyer. Your message about religion keeping millions of people out of church is right on. As a missionary evangelist internationally I have encountered hurted wounded people that have been run out of the church. Religious people think that what others do is wrong but not necessarily see that what they do is wrong. Religious people therefore remain in sin because they can't see themselves.

Shouldn't the message be about whether your methods are bringing people to the Knowledge and acceptance of God rather than whether it works for you. There is a lot what you think about marketing, what are you selling? There's a lot about 'I' in here as in most of the stuff on this site but 'I' seems to be outweighing the importance of God as He isn't mentioned as much as 'I. What's going on?

Paul Scanlon's adherence to this new breed of church is about repackaging the message. When I attended his service he quoted "Jesus is irresponsible. Did you know that".? It was very alarming but Paul reassured us with "I'm not being radical here". To justify his revelation he said that Jesus' approach to the parable of the lost sheep was illogical, uneconomical and not financially astute to leave 99 good sheep and search single lost one! Paul Scanlon does not understand the true meaning of the lost sheep. This is not 'communicating' the true Word of God. Tinkering with the message like this is going to lead to a new creed of church. I read that Paul takes it as compliments when people tell him that his speeches were 'rude', 'bad' and 'wicked as words of 'the street' which mean the opposite. I don't think so!

i agree. and a parable is a parable to communicate a deeper understanding. though i have listened to meny messages from paul and believe comaparitvely he is a powerful teacher of jesus. i believe he would be able to explain in person to person. and maybe he was trying to make people feel closer to jesus by bringing out human qualities. i agree and a parable is a parable jesus dint actualyy say it happened. i was a lost sheep and grateful he left the 99 to come for me, as new they were safe. then again i havent heard that sermon personally - i prefer to see the bigger picture, therefore could you reply and inform which preaching it was

Jesus was radical and probably classed as rude by the religious rulers of the time, for example He allowed a prositute to touch him, (Lukes gospel). Remember Christ came to give the gift of grace and mercy. I believe you have taken Paul out of context on this occasion.

paul makes some very good points about basically being relevant to communicate with the 21st century people. And also about having to stand up and do the job that he is able and equipped to do. But to me, this approach is best suited to kids, as he so frequently references, and to newish Christians who need a lot of teaching. And of course it is a lot of fun with all that brilliant entertainment that we all love. The otherside though is that sooner or later adults need to find their own expression and work out their own way to maturity and this can only come by debate and dialogue and experimental Spirit Life in a Body where everyone can give and share and hear from everyone. For as we all know, God does speak to and through us all, so it only when we all share of ourselves that we all benefit and can really grow to maturity and usefullness to Him. Or so it seems to me....
