Southern gospel's Anna Carter dies.

SOUTHERN GOSPEL singer Anna Carter died recently in the USA. Anna first began performing country on Texas radio with four part harmony group the Carter Quartet in 1935, when her family needed money for medial bills. Changing their name to the Chuck Wagon Gang and switching to gospel, the group became hugely popular and, thanks to regular infusions of new blood, continues to perform today. CR
