Gospel hip-hop blocked from future Billboard charts

INFLUENTIAL music trade magazine Billboard have announced a controversial change of policy with regards to their gospel charts which will remove Christian rap and hip-hop from the listings. Read a statement, "After soliciting feedback from the industry throughout the year, Billboard has discontinued categorizing most Christian rap and hip-hop titles for our Gospel Albums, Gospel Digital Songs, Hot Gospel Songs and Gospel Streaming charts." Last year Christian rap artist Lecrae was awarded by Billboard four different accolades: No. 1 Gospel Artist for the year; the top Hot Gospel Songs Artist; the No. 1 Gospel Albums Artist; and the No. 1 Gospel Digital Songs Artist. CR
