Andy Flannagan to minister at world poverty event

UP AND DOWN the country churches and Christian organisations are planning to take part in Blow The Whistle Sunday on 20th May. At the United Nations Millennium Summit in 2000, world leaders made a promise to halve extreme poverty by 2015 by setting Millennium Development Goals. The half way point for meeting those goals is 2007 so Christians are being urged to Blow The Whistle at half time to ensure that firstly, Governments honour their promises and secondly, the UK Government actively encourages other global leaders to effect change in their own countries. Christian musician Andy Flannagan will be leading worship at a Micah Night at church.co.uk in central London. A campaigning workshop, aimed at equipping congregations to get on board the Micah challenge, will be held at the event. CR
