No-alcohol folk club launched in Walsall's red light district

A PUB in Walsall's red light district has become the venue for Britain's first no-booze folk club. Christian roots musician and organiser, Jonathan Day, is keen to dispel the "old red eyes" image of traditional music. He told Cross Rhythms: "There is a tremendous openness to things of the Spirit in folk clubs. The club will attract both non-Christian folk enthusiasts and Christian fans of folk music."

The club Vine Song, held the first of its monthly meetings at the alcohol free pub The Vine in Walsall last December Due to appear there in January is Jonathan Day with his band Eye Of The Storm and in March singer/songwriter Cole Moreton. CR
