A single to aid tsunami victims brings together many top acts from UK Christian music.

IN A UNIQUE initiative Britain's gospel and contemporary Christian music artists are joining together to record a charity single to raise funds for the survivors of the South East Asia tsunami. Under the name One Voice, One Heart, the line up of artists that have agreed to take part in the recording project includes Delirious?' Martin Smith, Fame Academy judges David and Carrie Grant, Dove Award winner Tim Hughes, worship veteran Graham Kendrick, R&B gospel pioneers The Wades, contemporary worship man Matt Redman, gospel veterans Trumpets Of Zion, MOBO Award winners Raymond & Co, Britain's most popular gospel choir the London Community Gospel Choir, girl groups Siani and Nu Life and African gospel team Four Korners. Over 50 artists will be involved in recording the single which will take place at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. Tim Hughes and Mark Beswick have been asked to co-write the song. Linslee Campbell and Neil Costello will produce the single which will be released in time for Easter. The groundbreaking initiative is the brainchild of Lawrence Johnson, a co-founder of the London Community Gospel Choir and former member of Nu Colours.

Lawrence Johnson commented, "It's important the Christian community does all it can to help tsunami survivors who are trying to rebuild their lives. I felt I could do my bit to help in raising funds by organising the recording of charity single. I have been overwhelmed by the response from artists up and down the country and everyone I've approached wants to get onboard and have given their full support." Kingsway Music's Les Moir added, "This is going to be an historic recording session where the whole Christian music community comes together as one voice to express God's heart of compassion." CR
