58 Year old choir is to split

A WELL-KNOWN Christian choir, which has been going for 58 years is to fold. The London Emmanuel Choir has announced its closure saying that recruiting younger members has proven too difficult. The average age of singers in the choir is now 62. Formed in 1945 by Edwin and Muriel Shepherd and originally called the Endeavour Choir, it went on to become a fixture at religious meetings all over Britain. The Choir's final performance will be at the annual carol concert at London's Westminster Central Hall on December 13th.
