ALTHOUGH the overall total for US shipments of recorded music declined
in 1997, Christian music still grew according to the Recording
Industry Association Of America's latest report. Christian music
climbed from 4.3 to 4.5 per cent of total music sales, widening its
lead over classical (2.8 per cent) and jazz (2.8). Rock dominated with
32.5 per cent.
