Digital music is impacting the Christian industry as sales figures grow

DOWNLOAD figures show that 5.2 million Christian music tracks were sold in the USA in 2006, a rise of a million from the previous year. The top-selling digital track was "Beautiful Love" by The Afters from Epic Records/INO Records with 189,461 units downloaded. The amount of digital albums bought also doubled between 2005 and 2006 to 1.1 million albums downloaded. Digital-music albums still only account for 3 per cent of all Christian music sales, but it is predicted that it will reach 20 per cent in the future. CR
