Eponymous album latest release for American songsmith Fernando Ortega.

AWARD WINNING singer/songwriter Fernando Ortega releases his first studio project for two years and his first for Curb Records. The eponymous album promises "an edgier direction than past projects" and reunites Ortega with production/songwriting collaborators John Andrew Schreiner and Elaine Rubenstein. Featured musicians on the project include bassist Leland Sklar (James Taylor, Phil Collins), percussionist Stephen Hodges (Bruce Cockburn, Tom Waits) and fiddle/dobro duo Gabe And Michael Witcher (Willie Nelson, Nickel Creek). Said Ortega of the release, "It felt good to stretch musically and lyrically and explore some new avenues on this album. We decided to take some risks with this project and I'm very happy with how it turned out." CR
