Leon Pinson, Elder Roma Wilson and Jesse Mae Hemphill on field recording compilation

A SET OF legendary field recordings by folklorist and researcher George Mitchell, gathered over a 20 year period beginning in the 1960s, has been released on a seven CD box package. The 45-volume set on Fat Possum Records 'The George Mitchell Collection' contains recordings by such blues giants as Big Joe Williams, Sleepy John Estes and Fred McDowell as well as numerous gospel artists including Leon Pinson, Elder Roma Wilson and Jesse Mae Hemphill. CR
