Church of England publish new report on the role of music.

THE MOST comprehensive report ever prepared by the church on the subject of music was published in May. The Church Of England have been four years in the preparation of the enquiry In Tune With Heaven.

The Rev Robert Ellis, spokesman for the Lichfield Diocese told Cross Rhythms, "this will be an extremely important report and I would urge every church to consider its recommendations seriously.

"Music has that amazing quality of being able to lift people to tears. But many churches are really not grasping the opportunities of exploring the exciting music which is now available." Among those interviewed by the Synod committee preparing the report was Cross Rhythms editor Tony Cummings. - A full feature on In Tune With Heaven will appear in CR12. CR
