"The Little Girl" by John Michael Montgomery is surprise hit

AN AMERICAN country music song currently climbing the US country charts is based on a Christian story, whether true or fictitious not known, songwriter Harley Allen received by email. "The Little Girl" by John Michael Montgomery has surprised industry observers. The song's lyric chronicles a young girl's troubled life and the murder/suicide of her parents. When she goes to live in a new home and is taken to Sunday school, she looks up on the wall at Jesus on the cross and tells the teacher, "I know that man up there on that cross/I don't know his name, but I know he got off/'Cause he was there in my old house and held me close by his side/As I hid behind our couch/The night that my parents died." CR
