AFTER A backlash of criticism to their implementation of lyric
criteria to determine an album or song's eligibility to the Dove
Awards, America's Gospel Music Association have revised the statement
for the 2000 Awards. The new definition now reads, "Gospel music is

historically orthodox Christian truth contained in or derived from the
Holy Bible; and/or apparently prompted and informed by a Christian
world view."
