Cross Rhythms Christian Music Directory goes online

CROSS RHYTHMS have announced that although their annual Christian Music Directory, due to be published on 1st May, is the biggest ever, with over 1,200 listings for bands and soloists, it will not now be published in a paper version and will only be available on the Cross Rhythms website. Said Cross Rhythms' general manager Jonathan Bellamy, "In compiling this year's Directory it became apparent that demand for advertising space within the paper version was not sufficient to support the costs involved in its publication and would have left us with a significant financial loss we could not justify taking. Upon reflection we felt that with the increasing popularity of the internet the nature of accessing directory information has changed substantially. In addition, the huge advantage of a website directory is that listings can be amended almost on a daily basis and more and more directory publishers are finding a paper version, which effectively dates as soon as it is published, is not as reliable as an electronic version."

The Cross Rhythms Christian Music Directory is now in its 10th year of publication and having established itself as a definitive contact information source for the UK Christian music community Cross Rhythms will continue to assemble this valuable resource. It is not known at this stage if a paper version will be published again in the future. Said Bellamy, "This decision will in no way affect the quality of the Directory. The thousands of users of the Directory will continue to find freshly researched contact information, absolutely free, on everything from alternative events to worship teaching organisations on www.crossrhythms.co.uk." CR
