Scheme launched by Christian Copyright Licensing International to allow legal photocopying of material

THE LICENSING body for churches, Christian Copyright Licensing International, have launched a new scheme whereby churches can legally photocopy material from Christian songbooks. The Music Reproduction Licence will give permission to churches to photocopy tens of thousands of hymns and worship songs in copyright, which are intended for congregational use, from hundreds of books in copyright. As with most licences of this type not every published hymn or worship song or every hymnbook or worship songbook is included. However the books reported as being most photocopied will be immediately covered, as will most of the hymns and worship songs in the current Church Copyright Licence.
